Isaiah had a special role as a mentor and adviser to King Hezekiah, but God called Isaiah to an even greater position as a prophet to Judah and all the people of Israel. Isaiah recorded prophecies that foretold the coming birth and suffering of Christ. This chapter contained a framework for reading and understanding prophecy.
